Fighting Homo/Transphobia in Sports, Meeting in Opatija
17 activists and journalists has gathered in Opatija, Croatia for the ´Fighting homo/transphobia in Sports´ networking meeting and seminars. The meeting took place on the 29th-30th of September.
The meeting was conducted within the frameworks of the project dedicated to the fight against homo- and transphobia in sports. Participants from five countries of Eastern and Southern Europe (Poland, Ukraine, Serbia, Croatia and Slovenia) had the opportunity to share useful practices used in their states aimed at combating homophobia in sports today, share their experiences with sports activists and representatives of local authorities.
In addition, the participants had created a master-plan that will allow activists from participating countries to carry out workshops, involving in this project more local journalists.
On the first weekend of November, KPH will organize a workshop for journalists in Warsaw. During the workshop topics will also be addressing issues of transphobia and homophobia in sport.
Consequently, the participants of the local workshops will have the opportunity to participate in a contest for the best article on the issues discussed.
